With the new school year underway, I am reflecting on what this signals in my own little neighborhood. I love seeing the young children and their parents walking by each morning and then returning home at end of day. I enjoy watching the teens who have car privileges on some days as they drive so very carefully past my window. But I miss the hustle and bustle of activity throughout the summer months on our streets when all of them are home.

They color my daily world like sparkling rainbows. Some seem really excited to be making this new beginning while others do not seem to be quite as enthusiastic. A new school year signals a new beginning—an opportunity to make new choices. The quality and consequences of previous choices are a thing of the past. Today represents the first step of their newest journey.

The same is true for us in TOPS. The seasons are changing, and as the leaves in my area begin to turn color, I am reminded of a favorite quote: “The world is out there in full color. Capture it and bring it home.” It reminds me that in every experience there is a new opportunity just waiting to be captured. This may be the season of success if we will just embrace the chance. I encourage you to look at your own life from all perspectives with fresh eyes. See the potential within you in all of its splendor. Then, grab hold!

This day can be a new beginning; a new opportunity to make the choices that will open the world in front of you. Let go of pre-conceived notions, expand your point of view, and don’t be afraid to color outside the lines as you express your joy in living fully!
