I finally did it. After a year and a half of thinking about it, overthinking about it, and teetering on the fence, I officially signed up for my first “Introduction to Improv” course. “Improv” is short for improvisational comedy and leaves very little, if any, time for overthinking. I’m only three classes in, but I’m already learning new things, gaining more confidence and meeting new people.
Whenever we start something new, it’s always a little nerve-wracking. The “what ifs” may start to take over our thoughts. It’s easy to stay in our little comfort bubbles because they’re, well, comfortable. But if we stay put, we may miss out on some truly amazing experiences and opportunities. Trying new things, regardless of whether or not they become a newfound passion or hobby, keeps us moving forward and helps us learn more about what we like and don’t like, and what we’re really capable of.
If you’re curious about trying something new, whether it’s a fitness class or even learning a second language, why not give it a shot? Maybe you’ll find something you love or maybe you’ll just find a fun way to spend a Monday evening every week. But you’ll never know if you don’t take that first step. Are you thinking about trying a new class, activity or something else? Tell me all about it below!
Cheers to trying new things and bursting our comfort bubbles.
Good luck, sounds like a fun class and lots of laughter
Thanks, Sandra! It definitely is 🙂
You have perked my curiosity…. with the “Introduction to Improv” course…
Of course, I’ve always meant to go back to Yoga… “one of these days.!!!”
Or use my walking sticks so that I go “further faster”… it’s been many years ago when Jim would drop me off at the edge of town on his way to work, but I’d still find my way home!!!!?!?!?
Thanks for reminding me…. and giving me new ideas… it’s time to “Start moving again!!!”
Have a great day!!! Maimie
You can do it, Maimie!! And thanks for reading 🙂
Hi, Maime!
My one of these days is ‘Going back to TOPS’. I’ve missed several weeks and it is time to make the commitment again.
Line Dancing is wonderful these days and so is taking Spanish for Travellers.
