Have you ever taken a long journey that felt like you’d never reach your destination? Then, later, you repeat the same trip, this time with someone by your side, and suddenly it seems much shorter. It was the same distance, just a different observation and experience.
Seeing a SHARE THE ROAD sign while traveling makes me aware that other modes of transportation are also using the road. However, on my journey to a healthy lifestyle, this sign has a greater meaning. It is important to FOLLOW THE SIGNS.
In TOPS terms, the SHARE THE ROAD sign reminds me of how important it is to share INFORMATION about our organization with others. It is the only way to guarantee that we get new members and provide the support needed for success, for now and for future generations.
Just like taking a companion on a road trip, having that supporter to rely on makes the weight loss SPEED BUMPS a little bit easier to manage. Others on the same journey may also have INFORMATION about ALTERNATE ROUTES.
I recently attended my 50th high school reunion. It was a fantastic time for two reasons: I had a chance to catch up with classmates and I was actually alive and in good health to attend. As I mentioned before, some friends did not think I would make it to my sixties. Now I am knocking on the door of getting to my seventies. Prior to joining TOPS, my health gave new meaning to the DANGER AHEAD sign.
That night I had many opportunities to SHARE THE ROAD about TOPS. And now with a little over three months left in 2024, I wonder how everyone is doing with the Four or More in 2024 campaign. Have you put SHARE THE ROAD signs out to let people know where you are or what we are all about?
As referenced in one of my President’s messages in TOPS News, our organization has not achieved membership levels equal to the numbers prior to the pandemic. It is going to take all of us to expand the VISITOR PARKING area for new members.
Please remember to SHARE THE ROAD.
What a nice way of explaining what TOPs is about and an encouraging message to us all. Thank you
Thanks Rick. Look forward to your posts.
