In fact, today is National Avocado Day. And they\u2019re so popular at the moment that their price has almost doubled compared to this time last year. To help you decide whether or not it\u2019s worth it to shell out extra cash for this fun (and fiber-filled!) fruit, check out these quick facts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Avocados have the least amount of sugar per serving than any other fruit.<\/li>\n<li>One-third of a medium avocado has three grams of fiber. Spread this on a slice of whole-wheat toast and enjoy with a cup of strawberries. You\u2019ve just met 30% of your fiber needs for the day.<\/li>\n<li>Following the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tops.org\/tops\/tops\/MealPlan.aspx\">Food Exchange System<\/a>? Two tablespoons of avocado count as one fat exchange. This is roughly the size of a golf ball.<\/li>\n<li>Avocados contain heart-healthy <em>unsaturated<\/em> fat. Eating foods with saturated and trans fats may raise the level of \u201cbad\u201d cholesterol in your blood.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cAvocado hand\u201d is a real, and potentially dangerous, thing.
