Apparently, I\u2019m not the only one who thinks that salad greens and fruit can peacefully coexist in a blended treat.\u00a0Katie Ferraro, a Registered Dietitian and nutrition expert for TOPS, shared a couple of different \u201cgreen\u201d smoothie recipes in a past issue of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tops.org\/tops\/TOPS\/Member\/TOPSNews.aspx\"><em>TOPS News<\/em><\/a> membership magazine. If you\u2019re trying to eat more vegetables but can\u2019t bear the thought of another carrot or celery stick, it may be time to break out the blender. Here\u2019s a recipe for a <strong>Spinach-Peanut Butter-Banana Smoothie<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1 c. unsweetened almond milk<\/p>\n<p>1\/2 c. water<\/p>\n<p>4-6 ice cubes<\/p>\n<p>1 c. baby spinach<\/p>\n<p>1 frozen small banana<\/p>\n<p>1 T. natural peanut butter, no added salt<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Instructions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Place all ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Number of servings:<\/strong> 1<\/p>\n<p><strong>Per serving: <\/strong>230 calories, 11 g. fat, 27 g. carbohydrate, 6 g. protein<\/p>\n<p><strong>Exchanges:<\/strong> \u00bd milk, 1 meat, 1 nonstarchy vegetable, 2 fruit<br \/>\nStill not quite sold?
