Originally hailing from Wisconsin, they were eager to indulge in all of the state\u2019s staples including cheese curds, beer, and of course, a Friday night fish fry. To be fair, Wisconsin does have many healthy food options available that extend beyond its culinary clich\u00e9s. But I wanted to give the people what they wanted, and I\u2019m a firm believer in the TOPS philosophy that all foods fit \u2026 even cheese curds. After a food-filled visit, we were all eager to get back to our normal eating routines. This got me thinking about the importance of not dwelling too much on a slip-up or setback.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\">To help you start planning for the upcoming holidays and the extra snacks and treats they typically bring, here are three tips for getting back on track after a holiday or special event.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\"><b>Plan to get moving.<\/b> Whether it\u2019s your favorite workout class or a long walk with a friend, set an exercise date and stick to it as if it were an appointment. And don\u2019t think of this as \u201cpunishment\u201d but rather an opportunity to feel energized and recharged.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\"><b>Plan to up your veggies.<\/b> Unfortunately, most trips or holiday gatherings don\u2019t result in me saying, \u201cI ate way too many vegetables last night!\u201d That\u2019s why I always make it a point to have extra <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.tops.org\/wellness-wednesday\/fall-love-fall-vegetables\/\"><span class=\"s2\">veggies<\/span><\/a> for meals and snacks the week following a calorie-filled weekend.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\"><b>Plan to \u2026 plan<\/b>. Set aside an hour or so for meal prep. Scan some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tops.org\/tops\/TOPS\/Member\/recipes-of-the-month.aspx\"><span class=\"s2\">recipes<\/span><\/a>, make a shopping list, figure out which of your <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.tops.org\/wellness-wednesday\/3-must-haves-for-your-kitchen\/\"><span class=\"s2\">kitchen tools<\/span><\/a> you\u2019ll need and prepare three to four meals that you can just grab and eat for the week.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\">One party, one weekend or even one cheese curd-filled Wisconsin road trip won\u2019t derail your weight-loss efforts. Don\u2019t demand perfection in your healthy lifestyle.
