So how about shortening it up a bit? Instead of a New Year\u2019s resolution, consider setting New Weeks\u2019 resolutions. Each week, for the next 12 weeks, focus on one area that you\u2019d like to improve. The beauty of this is that every week is not only a fresh start, but a new opportunity for success. If you follow my blog, you may recall that last year <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.tops.org\/wellness-wednesday\/3-alternatives-to-new-years-resolutions\/\">I focused on adding one new, healthy activity every month<\/a>. I started off strong but fizzled a bit after the first several months. This year, I\u2019m only going to focus on one quarter (12 weeks) at a time. Here are my weekly resolutions for the next 12 weeks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Week 1 &#8211; <\/strong>Wear my activity tracker every day, and aim for at least 10,000 steps, four days a week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Week 2 &#8211; <\/strong> Do neck and upper back stretches at morning break for at least three days a week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Week 3 &#8211; <\/strong>Journal food every single day (I tend to skip weekends, so this will get me back on track).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Week 4 &#8211; <\/strong>Complete a yoga class or go cross-country skiing before the end of January.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Week 5 &#8211; <\/strong>Repeat week one.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Week 6 &#8211; <\/strong>Include vegetables for breakfast at least twice this week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Week 7 &#8211; <\/strong>Regain KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) status.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Week 8 &#8211; <\/strong>Schedule a time to donate blood.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Week 9 &#8211; <\/strong>Repeat week two.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Week 10 &#8211; <\/strong>Go meatless for one day this week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Week 11 &#8211; <\/strong>Attend my workout class at least twice this week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Week 12 &#8211; <\/strong>Set weekly resolutions for the next 12 weeks.<\/p>\n<p>If the idea of setting weekly resolutions sounds doable for you, feel free to customize them to your own unique needs. It\u2019s a good idea to choose resolutions that are small, simple and that\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.tops.org\/wellness-wednesday\/going-with-the-flow\/\">go with the flow of your life<\/a>.
