Gleeful, Grow, Guidance, Gift, Grateful
Needless worry gives small things a big shadow. Or as my beloved grandma said, “It’s like trying to go to town in a rocking chair!” In the end, you can either focus on what’s tearing you apart, or what’s holding you together. Taking a deep breath at such times, pausing to appreciate the gifts that surround us, and being grateful for them, can help place things into perspective and bring a smile in the darkest time. We need to learn to roll with life instead of railing against it. Looking back on the most challenging of times, we often find that those times taught us a lesson or two that will guide our future choices. We have grown and are stronger for the struggle.
Don’t run from the realities of your present scrimmages. The pain and defeat contained within them are necessary to your long-term growth. Remember, there is a difference between encountering defeats and being defeated. Nothing ever goes away until it teaches you what you need to know to grow.
